Color Burst Card Class on July 30 at 1:00pm

Color Burst  Card Class

$30
July 30th 12:45-3:00 pm

Contact Nonnie at link in the right column if you want to join the class

More Ken Oliver Colorburst fun - including the Metallic colors!  You can stamp the dragonfly on the stencil card in whatever color you like.  A blue dragonfly is beautiful and makes the care more masculine.

Please bring to class:

  • craft mat,
  • heat gun,
  • scissors,
  • adhesive (including pop dots),
  • craft pick,
  • water mister
  • and several small paintbrushes and a 1/2" to 1" flat brush.
  • PLEASE BRING WHITE EMBOSSING PASTE - ANY BRAND - RANGER - GOLDEN - TSUKINENKO - DREAMWEAVER - WHATEVER YOU HAVE ON HAND.

We will change the color using Colorbursts.
If you own the Ken Oliver Cat Stencil, please bring it.

I also used black archival ink, versamark and stamping blocks.  I will have a number of stencils but if you have a favorite you want to try - bring it along.  The clean up of the stencil will blow you away.

If you have your own Color Bursts (or similar product, bring them too!  Each bottle is different in application and you may as well get used to your own!   Don't worry if you don't own them - this is a great place to try them.  You might want to bring some extra watercolor paper; in the same manner that we have extra ink in the alcohol ink class, we will have extra dye here, and occasional ghost prints.

Please note - you can stamp any greetings you want on these - I will have the sayings sets there!

November 21st class - Christmas cards with alcohol inks

Christmas cards with alcohol inks

class makes 5 cards for $25
November 21st 1 pm - 3:30 pm

Please bring:  craft mat, scissors, blending solution if you have it, adhesive, including pop dots, and whatever you use to put on gems.  It is messy, so you might want to bring rubber gloves if you don't like your hands inky!  If you sign up for the class and would like to know what ink colors I am using I will send you a list of the colors for each card.  You may bring the colors if you want or you may use mine.  It will also give you a list so you don't need to take so many notes.  I must tell you that the little red bird card is much cuter in person than in this photo!

We will make 5 cards in the alcohol ink card class, including one using the trendy Yupo paper and a new technique. Colors as you might guess, tend toward the fall/Halloween pallet. Here is what I used, in no particular order: Peach Bellini, Butterscotch, Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange, Purple Twilight, Sail Boat Blue, Ginger, Espresso, Botanical Green, and Copper, in case you would like to bring your own to class.

Please bring: craft mat, scissors, blending solution if you have it, adhesive, including pop dots, and whatever you use to put on gems. It is messy, so you might want to bring rubber gloves if you don't like your hands inky!

Seashell and Travel Cards

I love seashell cards because they can be used for almost any occasion so I like to have a few on hand at all times.  Travel cards are great for bon voyage wishes or to send to people who just like to dream!

Detail gold embossing powder on black paper makes a quick card!

Alcohol inks with vintage mahogany embossing powder and Frantage mix on top of Graphic 45 paper and a brown card base.

Alcohol inks used with a stencil and a stamp, with detail gold embossing powder.

Alcohol inks - tricky part is that you paint with them on the paper, and then stamp, so it is not exact!

Stamped on water color paper and colored with distress markers and a water color brush.

I have been published...

for the second time, but as big a thrill as the first time! Someone in a class told me she had seen my cards in Take Ten; I did not know if she meant last summers issue or the new one. I went online and in the little preview they run for the magazine I could see one of the cards I had submitted so I knew it was true. Like a total geek I checked the bookstore everyday for over a week before they finally had a copy and I could see it for real. I contacted Stampington and they sent me out a copy which arrived on Saturday with a sweet message!! There are 3 cards and one of the details in the back. Not sure how good the images are but I will try and post them here...if you have the magazine they are on page 14, 22 and 28...and Stampington photography is always excellent. Tomorrow I will find all the stamp credits and post the ones I do not remember off the top of my head.

The arc de Triomphe is an Oxford Impressions.

The mannequin is from Lost Coast designs and the Thanks is an old Stampin´ Up.

The changed the directions on this one to say computer print the sentimentS when it should have been the singular. The ¨even cowgirls get the blues¨ is part of that cool stamp. I did print the ¨Hang in there...¨ on my computer before I inked and distressed it. The little copper stars are way cooler then this pic...they are just chipboard painted and inked but they look like real old hammered copper.
