Don't forget classes tomorrow, September 26! See previous blog posts for details.
Enter the September stamping challenge on this blog! See this blog post for details. Winners picked randomly.
Now, onto the art...
This page has a background of acrylic paints that are mixed and blended with water. The final layer is Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist applied through a stencil to give a slight watery shimmer to the page. The starfish, sand dollar and seahorses were covered with distress embossing powder and real sand to get a great, rough texture. The netting comes from Michael's, sold in a bag near the sea shells and glass baubles used for home decor. The whole page is a nummy mixture of different textures and complimentary color!

Tag Tuesday Challenge August 10: Crowns
OK, crowns. I happen to have a little bag of sequin crowns on my desk I had picked up at Joannś for $1 to use in a mini book I am making for my niece who starts kindergarten in two weeks. She would not like lime green - LOL - just the pink and purple pul-leeeze! Didn´t know what I would do with the green when this week´s challenge popped up. Voila! The background is various glimmer mists - whenever I have leftover on my craft mat I run tags through it - often mixing several colors on tags. Cat is from Lost Coast designs, flourish is an old wood mount with no ID, pink glitter on bottom is chunky german glass glitter. This is what the cats at my house think they look like. No doubt. Thanks for a fun challenge Louise!
OK - a little note here - I have a rule that I do NOT look at anyone elseś tag (except Louise´s of course) until I have mine finished and posted - no undo influence, etc. So after I posted, I went to the beginning of the list and started looking. The juxtaposition of Tracy Mś tag and mine is the reason I love this challenge...the extremely different interpretations on any given day....thatś all.

The Mist Class
This is a technique class - we will make tags with labels on what we did so you can remember it later - LOL. We will use Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Mist Chalkboard, Smooch Spritz, Perfect Pearls and Perfect Pearls mixed with dye reinkers. Had trouble getting the look you want with your glitz? We will apply it many different ways and I will share all the tips I have picked up on using these products. July 22 from 1-3 and 6-8 as well as July 24 from 1-3. If you do not like your hands getting inky be sure and bring rubber gloves....there is nothing neat and tidy about these products!

Tag Tuesday Challenge #55: Favorites
This week the challenge was to use a few of our favorites - and I somehow carved out time to do it this morning - and I love the tag - then I realized my camera was in the glove compartment of my friend Mary´s car and she is out of state until Tuesday. So here is a scan, although it does not show the color to the best effect. I just worked for so long on it - and had so much fun - that I couldn´t not post it! Sorry about the poor image...maybe when my camera returns I will take a photo and repost. In the meantime...here are a few of my favorites!

Favorites:
Paris
Purple (Glimmer Mist in this case)
Pearl Embossing Powder (Silver)
Punches (the three little fleur de lis)
Prima Flowers
Pearls and Bling
(Purple) Chunky Glass Glitter
Pretty Fibers - Fringe and Wide Ribbon in this case
Pewter (or copper or gold or any!) Brads
and the Practical - Pop Dots
(and faves that did not make this tag - distress inks, pears, cars, blues, greens and pinks, perfect pearls and paints....maybe next week they will make it on to a tag!)
and you know, I am looking at the scan and it looks like the top ribbon is crepe paper streamers or something but it is really beautiful 2¨ wide purple/silver/pink ribbon. Oh well, I made some art just for me - not for a class or a gift or anything - just for me!! Thanks Louise - if it weren´t for the challenges I might not take the time to play!!
