Page classes - October and August

Finally catching up!  Teaching both October and August this Saturday, October 26th at SB2!  Hope to see you there!

October page - just for the record, that's my boy in 1982.  A mighty fine duck he was!  Diapers made him waddle when he walked.  And he had the quack down thanks to his Grandpa Bill..

August page - featuring my grandfather at the top of the picture in 1900.   Could work for heritage, page about a husband, uncle, son, all kinds of things....I like the kraft and black combo....doing lots of that lately!

Tim's tags - October

The Halloween is cute, but I love the Christmas one I made!  A fine addition to the Christmas tag collection.  Actually, I love the background on the Halloween tag so much i recreated it for some Halloween cards so that is a good thing.

tim's tags - september

Actually added a little blue bling to the christmas one after the photo was taken - it needed a little pick me up and that did the trick!

April Tag and Page Class

Saturday, April 27th

Scrapbooks, Too in Bloomington

Tag Class 10:30-12:30
Page Class 1:00-2:30

Page Class - for the record - my beloved Great Aunt Flo!

Tag Class!

Please bring to class:  craft mat, heat gun, scissors, edge distresser, brown distress ink (walnut stain, vintage photo or brushed corduroy) and blending tool, old cloth rag (which will get destroyed), adhesive including pop dots, and craft pick.  If you own any of these, you might want to bring the following:  Distress Inks in Rusty Hinge, Evergreen, Broken China or any blue; Distress Paints in Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Broken China, Salty Ocean, Antiqued Bronze, Tarnished Brass, Spritz Water Bottle, Mini Stapler, Extra #8 Tags and gloves if you don’t want your fingers covered in paint.

For the page class, in addition to the supplies listed above, please bring a personal paper trimmer, your photo and a stamp with a quote you love for that picture – I’ll bring a few but you might have the perfect one in your stash!

I did use a 5" x 7" vertical photo for the page.  A person, a favorite place, any number of things would work.  You will need to take the tag class first if you would like to take the page class - it is a complicated technique and you will learn it in the first class - not really time to teach it in the shorter page class!  Each class is $20.

April Tag for TH April Tag Challenge

Finally, my paints arrived - it took only 22 tags to get it figured out - use lots and lots and lots of paint - and you will get some gorgeous tags!  The Christmas version is a little hard to see, but I used a holly and pine bough stamp in the background and used the Tim poinsettia die and folder to make the flower.  I used tag cardstock and rubbed the copper paint over the embossing to highlight the flowers.  Hard to photograph it with the glitter ribbon!

Tattered Floral Challenge

An alcohol ink Tattered Floral....all in purples...cool peri right through eggplant....stamped with Jet Black Archival.....and a ticket stamped with a favorite saying....didn't photograph too well, but it is beautiful in person....I think it is the metal background reflecting in the camera....of well...I am entered!  Happy St. Patrick's Day all!

March Tim Holtz Tag Entry

My take on the March tag....plus my Christmas version...which actually looks better in person than in the photo...not sure why....oh well....you get the idea!

March Tags and Page Classes

March Tag Class
Saturday, March 23rd, 10-Noon
Make Tim's March Easter Tag and a cute Christmas tag too!  We'll play with the new Distress paints and the tinsel - as well as a little alcohol ink - can you spot it in the picture?   Please bring to class:  Scissors, brown distress ink (vintage photo, tea dye or frayed burlap) and blending tool, craft mat, sanding block, and adhesive.   Only a few spots left!!

January Page Class
Saturday, March 23rd 2:15-4:00
Yep, the Janaury Page - and the March page too - see below!!

We'll play with Dylusions sprays, Distress inks, and lots of Idea-ology!  Please bring to class:  Scissors, brown distress ink (vintage photo, tea dye or frayed burlap) and blending tool, craft pick, craft mat, sanding block, distresser, heat gun and adhesive (including lots of pop dots).   If you would like to add your photos in class, I used a 5" x 7" main photo and a 4" x 2" complementary photo.  If you have the following things, please bring them along:  distress inks in iced spruce, stormy sky or broken china, rusty hinge, distress stains - the metallics and Tim Holtz mini stapler.

Distress March Page
Saturday, March 23rd 12:30-2:00 pm
This page is based on Tim's March Easter tag!!  We will play with the new Distress paints as well as Dylusions sprays.   Please bring to class:  Scissors, brown distress ink (vintage photo, tea dye or frayed burlap) and blending tool, craft pic, craft mat, heat gun and adhesive.  Think bunnies, little metal flowers, sprayed flowers....you get the idea....doesn't sound too grungy, but it 's fun!  If you have a distress ink called Mustard Seed, please bring that and a blending tool.  The page was designed for a 5" x 7" photo, although I had to crop mine down to 5" x 5"; I think it might look better with a 5x7.  Two 4"x6" stacked to form an 8" x 6" might work too.  Hope to see you in class!

Secret Garden Book Class

The new Graphic 45 Secret  Paper finally arrived on Warwick Street and I have designed the spring book class.  It is an hand stitched accordion book filled with flowers and butterflies all in lovely pastel palette.  The book has eight 5"x7" panels on each side.  There is plenty of room for adding photos and journaling. Below are two sets of panels from the pink and blue side of the book.  As always, there are lots of ribbons, gems and little surprises throughout the book.

The book would make a fabulous Mother's Day gift, a gift for any gardener in your life, a tribute book about a loved one or a special treat just for you!  The class is being taught on three Saturdays in April at my favorite stores:

You will need to bring to class a scissors, your favorite adhesives including glue or tape runner for adhering pages, pop dots for elevation and micro dots or a glue pen for tiny things, Tea Dye Distress Ink and a blending tool, a craft mat if you own it, and finally, a craft pick or gem tool.  If you do are not sure what these things are or do not own them, the kind people at the stores will be more than happy to help you buy them.  They are all basic scrapbooking tools you will use again and again

Your class kit will include all the papers, ribbons, gems, embellishments and die cut pieces you will use to make the book.  You will leave class with a finished book – ready for you to add your own photographs, titles and journaling.

I would love to see you in class and hope you can join us for a fun event!
