December Point of View

OK, I finally gave in and used an Eiffel Tower stamp. This fun one is a wood mount by Hampton Arts and is included in the price of the class. Class is WEDNESDAY, December 15th at 10:30 am and 6:30 pm. A few comments and the inks I used...

Based on a card that I was fortunate enough to have published in Take Ten....uses Sepia Archival Ink, Vintage Photo Distress, Gold Paint Dabber and Sunflower Sparkle Perfect Pearls Mist.

The new Cosmo Cricket paper and a check out those peeps....Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Tea Dye and Sepia Archival Ink. Yes, if you have the bird trio stamp from a past class, bring it along. I will have one there to use if you don´t have it.

What is not to love about this new Cosmo Cricket collection?? Straight jet black archival ink...simple, yet effective.

OK, bring along a brayer if you have one....we will play with dye inks...and gloss paper....and a little Versamark and clear embossing powder. I used greens, blues and purples and will have them there, but bring your own if you want to see what you can come up with using ink you already own.

OK. photo fairy failed me...this is my favorite card and you wouldn´t know why to look at this picture! My Mind´s Eye Lost and Found paper, a tag, and Twinkling H20ś make magic. I have about 5 colors but feel free to bring your own if you want to try something besides pink. Just about anything works well with the timeless black and white. I will bring pink, purple, green and blue.

7 Gypsies Christmas Tray Class

Make a Christmas themed 7 Gypsies Tray using Girls Paperie paper, stamps and die cuts. It holds 1 4x6 photo and 2 wallet size photos, although you could easily rearrange it to include 2 4x6 photos. Traditional reds and greens make it a good gift for that hard to shop for person on your Christmas list. Feel free to bring your pictures to class so you can walk out with a finished project.

Sunday, December 5th from 12:30-3:30 and Thursday, December 9th 10:30-1:30 and 6:00-9:00.

Stop by the shop to see the 3-D goodness of this fun project.

Fun project, photo glitch

live and learn...I should have taken the picture without the plastic in the window....but by the time I went to take the picture the whole back was glued on and I was not going to try and unbeacon it. So this is a tease...stop by Scrapbooks Too and take a look. It is a class on December 14th, both day and evening. The price of the class includes most of the trinkets - ust not the stamp or the candle, but it would be a great way to display some treasured Christmas ornaments or mementos.

Sneak peek...

Yes, there will be an Alcohol Inks with a Twist of Christmas....coming soon to a scrapbook store near you! Here is one of the cards...I will have the others for you to see at this week´s Twist of Thanksgiving class and I will post them after Saturday´s class. There are a few spots left in each of the three classes this week. The Twist of Christmas classes will be on Thursday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 4th. They are elegant, fast cards, easy to reproduce if you need to make lots of cards! Check back for a look at all of them. And check the post on October 24th if you need a look at the Thanksgiving cards.

Bo Bunny Mini Album

This book features the 2010 Bo Bunny Noel collection and was designed to fit on the 7 gypsies display stand. There are 14 pages with great paper, beautiful ribbon and a little stamping fun. This is the cover - stop in the store to see the whole book. Class is on Tuesday, November 30th and Saturday, December 4th. It would be lovely displayed in your home or would make a great gift. All you have to do is add photos and some journaling - the photo mats are all done for you.

Tim Holtz Vintage Christmas Cards

These vintage cards all feature the 2010 Tim Holtz Christmas stamps and dies, lots of fiber and trinkets and a fun ribbon rose technique. I took the photos late in the day and they look a little washed out - stop in the store and see the details! It is a three hour class - some of these techniques take some time to do properly! 5 cards in all and we will use the new perfect pearls spray. Class is Tuesday, December 7 and Saturday, December 11th.

November Point of View

A little Christmas fun...glitter, glaze pens, twinkling h2o´s, distress inks and of course - jet black archival! If you have jet black archival, versamark, vintage photo distress ink, red and green memento markers or red and green glaze pens, bring them along! The twinkling H2Oś I used were in the purple, blue and green families, but if you have some you love, bring them along...the tag could be made many ways. We will make 3 Christmas cards, a New Year card and 3 little Christmas tags. The class fee includes the WOOD mounted Impression Obsession tree stamp, so no need to bring a block! Class is Thursday, November 18th at 10:30 and at 6:30 - hope you can join us!

This card unfolds and reveals the stamped panel on the inside.

Colors are a little washed out here - it uses the BoBunny lavender. lime and aqua paper and is quite pretty!

Alcohol Inks with a Twist of Thanksgiving

OK, here we go...Thursday, November 11th and Saturday, November 13th. I realized I changed the stamped part of the burgundy card just above...gold embossed pops a little more, and I am missing one of the images but I will take another photo and get it posted. Three new techniques here for those of you who have taken the other alcohol ink classes I have taught. And if you do not need this many Thanksgiving cards, they would all make great Birthday cards and I will bring some birthday stamps along as well.

Point of View: October

Here are the five cards for Point of View this Thursday. To stamp the Unity tree stamp I used, brown and green markers (memento, but any dye markers will do, pool and stream paint dabbers, versamark and black detail embossing powder, jet black archival, tea dye and vintage photo distress ink and a blending tool for the vintage. For the leaves I used distress inks, reinkers and perfect pearls in an assortment of fall colors - just about any would work. Think peeled paint, rusty hinge, any of the browns, yellows or oranges - with blending tools! I will have everything at class, but if you want to work faster, bring along what you have in your stash and off we will go. Class is Thursday night from 6:30-8:30.

Simon Says Challenge #1: Wings

This tag is called ¨The Birds and the Bees¨. OK, they both have wings. The bee is a Tim Holtz stamp and the bird is of course from the TH cage sizzix die. The background is Gold Smooch Spritz, the ink is jet black archival and the birds are cut from a cosmetic package - lovely, thick glossy black paper. I hand cut a little necktie for Mr. Bird and Ms. Bird is wearing pearls from Kaisercraft. Thatś it - sort of off in a different direction but that is where my mind was wandering on this hot August day...
